Did you know today was National Margarita Day?
I KNOW, RIGHT!?
I have no idea how I missed the memo, but it became my life’s mission this afternoon to dream up a cocktail. With a little inspiration from Jessica over at How Sweet It Is, I concocted this little gem.
The verdict? My husband thought it tasted too strongly of pineapple, but I liked it just right. If you’re wary of the flavor combo, go easy and wing it. I just won’t be held responsible for your drink (because I’m already holding mine! hey-o!!!) Happy Friday, everyone!
Habanero Pineapple Margarita
(serves 2 – inspired by Jessica over at How Sweet It Is)
1 lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons crushed pineapple in juice
1 habanero pepper, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon agave syrup
3 ounces of silver tequila
In a cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, pineapple, habanero, and agave syrup. Muddle for a few seconds until fragrant.
Fill shaker half full with ice. Add tequila. Cap the shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
Fill your glasses with ice and strain margarita into both (break out the mesh strainer if you need to!). Garnish and enjoy!
